Zola Fields Brown, 90, of Morehead City, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Harborview Healthcare Center.
Zola Brown, daughter of Patrick and Eula Fields of Princeton, was born in 1923 and graduated from Princeton High School. She was a lifelong active member of First Baptist Church of Morehead City where she served in many capacities including deaconess. Zola was a faithful member of the Faith Bible class. She was always grateful for her family, her many friends and most of all her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. She will always be remembered for her gentle and loving kindness to others.
She was preceded in death by Moses Brown her husband of 56 years and her son Shelton Brown.
She is survived by her son, Donald Brown of the home; daughter Janet Vick and husband Phil of Greenville; sister Patsy Lane of Salisbury; brother Elmer Fields and wife Francis of Princeton; brother in-law Bill Brown and wife Lib of Morehead City; Daughter in-law Carolyn Brown; grandchildren Stuart Brown of Denver, Colorado, Chris Brown and wife Alexia of Wayne, Pennsylvania, Travis Vick of Greenville, and Sarah Moss and husband Brett of Clayton.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday at First Baptist Church of Morehead with Pastor Darrell Williams and Dr. Nate Leonard officiating. Interment will be held at Gethsemane following the service. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
