Zemmie "Frank" Millis Jr., surrounded by his family and friends, was called home by God after battling with cancer at the age of 69 on September 14, 2011. Zemmie was survived by his wife Carol King Millis and children; Alisa Millis, Joseph Millis, John King and adopted son Greggory O'Brian, grandchildren; Patrick Gould and wife Michelle, James Gould and wife Alexandra, Patricia King, Jonathan King, Jacob Tolleson, daughter in law Rachel King, and great grandson Lucas Zemmie Gould along with a multitude of family and friends.
Born and raised in Newport, North Carolina he served in the Navy, Coast Guard Reserves and Cherry Point Civil Services for over 37 years. He was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter and Nascar fan. He had an enormous impact on the recovery community at both the city and state level. During this time he served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Pass It On Corporation, a non-profit organization.
A Memorial Services will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church on 292 McCabe Road, Newport, NC. Saturday September 17, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. There will also be a memorial service held at the Pass It On Building at 20th and Bay St in Morehead City, NC, on Sunday September 18th at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or donations can be made in his name and mailed to the Pass It On Corporation, a nonprofit organization P.O. Box 822, Newport, NC 28570. He will be missed but NEVER forgotten.....
