Zella Belle (Sibbett) Ward
April 6, 1921 — April 13, 2016
Zella Belle Sibbett Ward, 95, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Snug Harbor On Nelson Bay surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Newport Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Zella was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and also a great great grandmother. She served her church for over 50 years as the church secretary, and volunteered her time in the church nursery. She continued to deliver for Meals On Wheels into her 90’s.
She is survived by her son, Dennis “Mike” Ward and girlfriend Paula Gillikin; daughter-in-law, Charlyne Ward; four grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Lewis Ward; son, Lester Ward; and parents Sylvester and Mary Sibbett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home, Morehead City.
