W. M. "Mike" Tyer

W. M. “Mike” Tyer, 65, of Morehead City, NC died Monday, July 25, 2011 at Duke University Medical Center.

A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Egbert Catholic Church with Father Doug Smiley and Chaplain Abram Barefoot presiding.

Mr. Tyer served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam and continued to serve in the U.S. Army after joining the Reserves. He retired from Civil Service in January of 2005 and began working with his wife in her business, Sewing Solutions of New Bern, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Woods-Tyer of the home; brother, James F. Tyer, III and wife, Mary Jo of Rocky Point, NC and Charles Lynn Tyer and wife, Pam of Nakina, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
