Willie Marie (Dennis) Padgett

Willie Marie Dennis Padgett, 92, of Ocean, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Reverend Terry Ellis. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Mrs. Padgett was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, canning and cooking for friends and family. She had the gift of serving and found great joy in fulfilling the needs of others. She was especially famous for her chocolate oatmeal cookies and cooked cream corn.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Padgett Murray and husband, Tony, of Ocean, NC and Donna Padgett Morton and husband, Manly, of Beaufort; sons, Frederick C. Padgett, II, and wife, Carolyn, of Cape Carteret and William David Padgett and wife, Leigh Ann, of Bogue; grandchildren, Lanee Kirby and husband, Jeff, Ronda Nixon, Leslie M. Garris and husband, Ken, Jamie Nixon and wife, Tabitha, Jonathan Nixon, Dereck Morton and wife, Tiffany, Alison Padgett, Samantha Padgett Fisher, Brianna Padgett, Delaney Padgett; great-grandchildren, Roney Malone and wife, Rebecca, Chad Nixon, Haley Hicks, Asher Nixon, Selah Nixon, Brantlee Nixon, Mason Morton, Kacey Garris, Logan Garris, Miller Morton, Lydia Garris, Zoe Fisher; great-great-grandchildren, Roney Malone, Paislei Hill, Mia Hicks; and sister-in-law, Ruby Hood and husband, Norman of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Padgett; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
