William "Chig" Quinn

William “Chig” Quinn, Sr., 72, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Duke University Hospital.

His memorial service will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Reverend Ray Conner and Reverend DeWayne Dickerson.

Chig was a devoted member and elder at Life Point Church in Morehead City. He was raised on Quinn Farms where he learned to love the outdoors. His love for nature continued with his work at Camp Bryan Farms. He enjoyed hunting and was proud to be a member of the Camp Boys Hunting Club.

He is survived by his best friend, loving wife, of 51 years and 4 months, Inez Quinn of the home; daughter, Regina Quinn Ward and husband Danny of Newport; son, William “Billy” Quinn, Jr. and wife Michelle of Newport; sister, Martha Quinn Russell of Snug Harbor; brothers, Eugene Quinn, Jr. of Newport, David Quinn, Sr. and wife Mary Jo of Newport; grandchildren, Alice Ward, Emily Ward, Holly Quinn, Hanna Quinn, Hayden Quinn; great-grandchild, Nevaeh Marie Gray; sister-in-law, Sharon Quinn; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alice Quinn and brother, Phillip Quinn.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
