William "Bill" Charles Compton

William “Bill” Charles Compton, 55, of Raleigh, son of John and Minnie Compton, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in Raleigh.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Tom Supplee.

Bill grew up in Carteret County and moved to Virginia in his late teens. He was a successful painter and estimator, working in shipyards and many other pursuits. He also worked in the family HVAC business as well as working in the Raleigh-Durham area.

He is survived by his parents, John Compton, Sr. and Minnie Raynor Compton; sisters, Teresa Compton Arthur and husband Dave of Warrenton, VA, Anna Michelle Lester and husband Darryl of Hope Mills, Regina Frances Parnell and husband Steve of Swansboro, Allison Raynor Hardy and husband Shon of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Ronald Keves Compton of Newport; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, John Compton, Jr.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
