William O. Davis

William O. Davis, 88, of Cape Carteret, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cape Carteret Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Kevin Clubb.

William was a native of Morehead City and proudly served in the United States Air Force and continued his honorable service as a member of the American Legion as well as supporting the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. His dedication and devotion will be missed at Cape Carteret Baptist Church where he was a member, and served as chairman of the deacons for three years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Arthur Davis; daughters, Rosemary Lee Chamberlain and husband, Mark of Dickson, TN; Rebecca Joyce Saunders and husband, Jason of Dickson, TN; son, William T. Davis and wife, Pam of Ruston, LA; granddaughter, Heather Saunders; grandsons. Christopher Davis, Matthew Chamberlain, Benjamin Saunders; great-grandson, Jaydon Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. “Bud” Davis and Polly Wade Davis, and sister, Sadie Davis Hoy.

Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Cape Carteret Baptist Church.
