William Amasa "Buster" Murdoch

Mr. William Amasa “Buster” Murdoch, 70, of Wildwood died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Carolina East Medical Center.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Wildwood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Wildwood Community Cemetery.

Mr. Murdoch retired from civil service at Cherry Point.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Salter Murdoch of the home; son, Richard Murdoch and wife, Joan Carol of Bogue; daughter, Jeanane Murdoch Rhodes and fiancé, Garry Guthrie of Swansboro; brother, Clyde David Murdoch of Morehead City; sisters, Bertha Barnes of Newport, Jean Carolyn Smith of Morehead City, and Gloria Riggs and husband, Leslie of Newport; grandchildren, Trinity Shepard and husband, Travis, Kody Rhodes and Rhiannon Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Taylor Davis, Chase Davis, Blue Watts, Cooper Shepard, and Luke Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, William “Billy” Murdoch, and brother, Manly Mason.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
