William Larry Kirby

William Larry Kirby, 62, of Harkers Island, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at his home.

Larry was born on October 21, 1961, to the late Carl Kirby Jr. and Melba Earl Willis. Born in Frankfort, Germany, Larry's family relocated to Southport, NC, where he spent his formative years before moving to Smyrna and eventually finding his home on Harkers Island

Larry had a deep-rooted love for Salt Life. Whether he was out fishing or oystering, his true joy was found on the water. Eating oysters was a simple pleasure he thoroughly enjoyed. An avid outdoorsman, Larry eagerly awaited the arrival of fall, as it meant numerous fun hunting trips.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving life partner, Laurie Tibbetts of the home; son, James "Wirley" Kirby; sister, Elizabeth “Benjie” Jones of Bolivia, NC; brother, Carl Wesley Kirby of Southport, NC; and 1 grandchild.
