William Christian, Jr.

William Matt "Bill" Christian, 79, of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fannie Carr Christian. He now rests in the loving arms of his wife.
He was born in Rocky Mount, NC, graduated from North Carolina State University, spent 25 years as a general contractor in Raleigh, moved to Pine Knoll Shores, where he built Bogue Banks County Club, and then owned The Anchorage Marina in Atlantic Beach for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Carter of Kingston, MA, Matt Christian of Greensboro, NC and Lucy Bradsher of Carolina Beach, NC; one brother, Joe Christian of Greensboro and six grandchildren, Lyon and Christian Carter, Alston McNairy, Katie Saunders, Christian Bedsworth and Allison Long.
A service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, October 4th, at Bogue Banks Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the home, 103 Laurel Ct., Pine Knoll Shores, NC, following the service.
