William "Colton" Carawan, 71, of Morehead City, died Thursday December 29.
The family and friends will be celebrating Colton's life at a visitation being held 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
Born and raised in Goldsboro, NC, in his youth he achieved the honor of Eagle Scout. He attended UNC Chapel Hill, following he attended the University of the Americas in Mexico City, MX and graduated with a degree in Anthropology, then he attended Thunderbird School of International Business in Peoria, AZ receiving a degree in International Business. He worked in pharmaceuticals in Latin America for a number of years. Colton then opened his own Business in Goldsboro "The Tape Deck". Then moved to Carteret County where he was a property manager in Atlantic Beach for more than 25 years. Colton had a love for the Crystal Coast and Caribbean Islands.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years Connie Bradshaw Carawan of the home: two daughters Cassie Pennell and husband Eddie of Clinton, and Carla Biggs and husband Rick of Goldsboro: a son Cliff Carawan and wife Amy of Clayton: two daughters Regina Bradshaw of Clayton and Mandy Jarvis of Morehead City: grandchildren Sydney Pennell, Sam and Matt Biggs, Cameron Carawan, Rachel Moore, Tyler O'Neal, and Ava Jarvis.
