William "Bill" LaValley, 79, of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at his home.
Bill was born on October 1, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Henry and Eileen LaValley. He had a long and successful career as a manufacturing engineer within the technology industry. Throughout his career, Bill displayed a remarkable attention to detail and a passion for finding innovative solutions.
Beyond his profession, Bill was an avid golfer, spending countless hours honing his skills on the greens. He also had a flair for woodworking, and his creations were cherished by family and friends alike. His craftsmanship was second to none, from intricate furniture and cabinetry pieces to unique keepsakes.
Sports played a significant role in Bill's life, and he held a special place in his heart for both The Ohio State University and NC State. As a loyal fan, he rarely missed watching a game and faithfully cheered them on.
His legacy as a loving husband, father, and grandfather will forever be cherished and celebrated.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Barbara LaValley; sons, Byran LaValley of Raleigh, NC, and Brent LaValley (Therese) of Asheville, NC; and grandchildren, Kasey LaValley of Statesville, NC and Megan LaValley of Raleigh, NC.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James LaValley.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
