Wilbur Wright Blackford (Woody), 60, of Morehead City, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at Shepherd by the Sea on Saturday, March 8th at 2:00 pm.
Woody was born February 27, 1953 in Corsicana, Texas to Virginia Wright Blackford and A. Wade Blackford, Sr. Woody received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Art from Pennsylvania State University before earning a Commercial Appraising license in Colorado Springs, CO. He practiced commercial appraising in the area for many years before moving to Morehead City, NC to be near family. He began working for Mashburn Appraisal Group before joining Shackelford & Associates.
Woody is survived by siblings A. Wade Blackford, Jr. (wife, Linbe) and Anna Blackford Zier, step mother Ruth Blackford, step brother Billy Cook, step sister Anitra Crow, 3 nieces, a nephew and cousins in Colorado and North Carolina.
