Wilbert Lewis, Jr.

SSgt. Wilbert Lewis, Jr., , USMC (Ret) 83, of Stacy, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Stacy Community Cemetery with military honors.

Wilbert served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Viet Nam War and 10 years in the reserves.

He is survived by two daughters, Joan Boyd of Stacy and Charyl Wells of Beaufort; two sons, Darrell Lewis of Snow Hill and Ricky Lewis of Beaufort; two sisters, Clara Small of Harlowe and Alice Moore of Morehead City; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah H. Lewis, mother Hilda Gaskill, two brothers, Will Lawrence and Lester Salter. His brother Frank Gaskill passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
