Weldon “Buck” Cooper Matthews, Jr., 85, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Powell Osteen officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Morehead City.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hooker Matthews of the home; daughter, Anne-Marie Atkinson and husband Phillip of Emerald Isle; son, Weldon C. “Don” Matthews, III and wife Marshia of Warren, MI; and two grandchildren, Phillip Atkinson, Jr. and Meredith Anne Atkinson.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
