Wayemond Conley Parrish
January 16, 1938 — February 12, 2014
Wayemond "Cory" Parrish, 76, of Havelock, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manley B. Rose, Jr. officiating.
Cory retired from the USMC after 23 years of service as a Master Sgt., which included two tours in Vietnam. He retired a second time from NADEP at Cherry Point with 27 years of service. He was a World Champion skeet shooter in 1975, and a life time member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Cynthia Parrish of the home; five children Leslie Gwen Horton of Pampa, TX, Janette Marie Cannon of Newport, Justin Neill Parrish and wife Misty of Smyrna, Adam Conley Parrish of Elizabeth City, and Isaac Heinz Parrish and wife Mary of Havelock; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac and Arizona Parrish, brother Phillip Parrish, sister Jean Parrish, and two dogs Jack and Jill.
The family will receive friends following the service.
