Wallace "Wally" B. Hill Jr., 63, of Newport, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Glad Tidings Church with Rev. Tim Mariner officiating.
Wally was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend to many. Those who knew Wally will remember his sense of humor, unwaving love of family and the joy of his Harley Davidson. Along with his HD friends, Wally "tore up the roads" thru many states, sharing his humor with all he came in contact with. Wally never met a stranger, and will be missed by all who he came in contact with. Wally grew up in Newport, NC and graduated from West Carteret High School in 1968. He joined the US Navy in 1968 and is a Vietnam Veteran. He went to work for Carolina Telephone in 1974 and newly retired from Centurylink.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Janet Hill of Newport, NC; his mother Dorothy Hill of Newport, NC; three brothers David L. Hill and wife Mary, Gary Hill, and Randy Hill all of Newport, NC; several nieces and nephews; and "Andy" his miniature Schauzer.
The family wishes to thank all friends, and family for their support and love.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church.
