Wade Rotchford, 51, of Beaufort, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at his home.
A service for Wade will be held at a later date.
Wade was born on February 10, 1971, in Springfield, Illinois and graduated from Southeast High School in Springfield with the Class of 1989. During Junior High he was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed playing football. While in Senior High, he found a joy for plants while taking horticulture.
Wade obtained his Level 1 Certification with Wastewater Treatment in Havelock. This training enabled him to operate and maintain the water treatment plant, including maintenance of equipment, quality control, and day-to-day activities.
Never meeting a stranger, Wade loved people and was a friendly face to everyone he encountered. It was that love of others that made volunteering a joy to him. Whether he was volunteering at Loaves and Fishes in Beaufort or Our Daily Bread in Havelock, he was always happy to serve. Wade was a large advocate for those with mental health conditions and always fought for others to get the help they need.
Wade was fascinated with wolves and dragons which captured his interest from a young age. His greatest love was his family who meant the world to him, he was proud of his role as a loving father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rotchford; daughters, Kathy Rotchford and Bailey Rotchford; son, Chad Park; mother, Judith Rotchford; father-in-law, Junior Garrison; Arthur Michaels, who was his father figure; and Jonathon Richardson, who he was a father figure to.
