Virginia "Genny" Jones

Virginia “Genny” Scott Jones, 77, of Harkers Island passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Refuge Fellowship Church with Rev. Lawrence Butler and Pastor Manley Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
Sister Genny was a long-time devoted member of Refuge Fellowship Church, as well as the secretary, choir member, and a Pillar of the church.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sparks and husband Roger of Harkers Island, Tracy Spell and husband Kenneth of Otway, and Gina Sanders and husband Scott of Otway; son, James Jones Jr. “Jim” and wife Dawn of Harkers Island; sister, Carolyn Styron of Cedar Island; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and Lila Mae Styron Scott; husband, James Jones; two brothers, Lionel Scott and Denny Scott; and one sister, Shelia Dixon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Refuge Fellowship Church.
