Virginia C. Fuerst

Virginia C. Fuerst, 96, of Newport, went home Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.

There will be a private service in her honor. She is to be buried at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery next to her husband.

Virginia enjoyed going to Glad Tidings Church where she was a greeter for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Sloan and husband Jim of Newport; grandchild, Aren Waller; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca Cowell, Cadie Cowell and Caleb Waller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hap; parents, Leroy and Elsie Haynes; 2 sisters and 5 brothers and their spouses.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated and can be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House at P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
