Victoria Devoti Giovanniello, 93, of Morehead City, North Carolina passed away on Monday February 15th after a brief illness. She was with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Giovanniello and her siblings, Peter, Esther, Ida, Elaine and Gloria and her parents Rose and Richard Devoti.

She was born and raised in Bristol Connecticut. She was a graduate of Bristol High School. She is survived by her sister Adele Mancini of Southington Ct. and her children, Linda Haines of Harkers Island, Mark Giovannniello of Guilford Ct. and Louis Giovanniello of Edgewater Fl. her  grandchildren, Michael Salter, Malinda Salter, Trista Budd, Ross Giovanniello, Vincent Giovanniello, Leah Giovanniello and Victoria Giovanniello and great grandchildren Amelie Salter and Abigail Clifford.

She leaves many loving nieces and nephews.

She was also the loving step- grandmother to Scott Haines and Tracy Chuck, and Kristen Palach Witt. She was step-great grandmother to Paul Chuck, Jessica Oevering, Kimberly Chuck and Travis Chuck, and Kevin, Derrick and Madison Haines.

She was loved by all who knew her. Her lively wit, sharp mind and zest for life will be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She loved art, music, gardening, writing, entertaining and travel. She was an avid NFL football and Uconn Huskies women’s basketball fan. She was a member of the Mann Center where she enjoyed yoga with her friends.

She had been employed as a corporate cost accountant at Emhart division of Black and Decker until her retirement.  After retirement she attended Tunxis Community College, studying Arts and Humanities. She was a member of Lifetime Learners at Tunxis.

She received several writing awards from the Senior Olympics for her interesting stories.

In 2004 she retired to the north Carolina coast, making new friends and volunteering at the History Place.

She was a communicant of St.Egberts Catholic Church in Morehead City North Carolina.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday,  March 9th at the Munden Funeral Home Chapel on Arendell St. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bristol, Connecticut.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the History Place on Arendell St. in Morehead City.
