Vester "Vic" Walton

Vester “Vic” Walton, 79, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Carteret Health Care.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Cherry Point Church of Christ, officiated by Minister Conway Hutton and Minister Eric Dougherty with military honors.

Vic was a devoted and active member at Cherry Point Church of Christ where his love for the Lord was evident to all those who met him. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a hardworking man who retired from civil service after 28 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Aloma Hutton Walton of the home; daughters, Vickie Riley of Columbus, OH, Patti Rutz of Newport, Gretchen Rodriquez and husband, Frank of Newport; son, Donovan Walton of Parkersburg, WV; sister, Virginia Edmiston of Marion, VA; brother, Harold Walton of Marion, VA; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Catherine Walton; sisters, Stella Walker, Anna Lowe; brothers, Ed Walton, Glenn Walton, Everett Walton, and Carl Walton; half-brothers, Arthur Walton and Breece Walton, and his grandchild, Angel Rodriquez.

Family will receive friends after the Celebration of Life Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Carolina Bible Camp at 1988 Jericho Church Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028.
