Vernie Mae Parish, 90, of Newport, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Pastor Tom Supplee officiating.
Vernie is survived by her sons, Billy Parish of Peletier and Gene Parish and wife Gail of Newport; daughters, Judy Garner and husband Allen of Williston and Joyce Parish of Newport; 5 grandchildren, Vincent, Christina, Melissa, Jason, and Adam; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Parish; daughter in-law, Kerry Parish; parents, Azof and Ada (Cummings) Young; five brothers; and one sister.
The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
