Venita Eileen (Gillikin) Lupton
June 2, 1939 — January 4, 2017
Venita Eileen Lupton, 77, of Otway, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Pastor Manley Rose, Jr. and Pastor DJ Hunt officiating. A private interment will follow.
Venita loved her grandkids and great grandkids more than anything in the world. She enjoyed going to play bingo with her daughter Brenda and listening to music such as Elvis and Lynyrd Skynyrd. She also enjoyed cooking and was especially known for her cooking skills. Venita was a selfless person who will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.
Venita is survived by her husband, James Everett Lupton Sr. of the home; daughters, Kathy Eileen Willis and Brenda Lee Lupton both of Morehead City; sons, Johnny Wayne Lupton of Morehead City, David Allen Lupton of Newport, Donnie Ray Lupton of Morehead City, Timothy James “Jamie” Lupton of Otway and James Everett “Kojak” Lupton III of Beaufort; brothers, Cedric Wayne Gillikin and wife Kim of Portland, ME; sisters, Lina Dean Sanders and husband Ken of Sanford, Susie Kay Styron and husband David of Cedar Island, Doris Gillikin Willis and husband Makely of Davis and Lisa Ann Hunt and husband Dean of Gloucester; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Katherine (Jones) Gillikin; daughter, Ruby Dawn Lupton; son, James Everett “Jimmy” Lupton Jr.; and sister, Patricia Ann Moore.
The family will welcome friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home.
