Vance Seawell, Jr.

Vance Seawell, Jr. , 88, of Morehead City, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at Harborview Health Care Center.
Vance served in the US Navy during World War II, stationed on the aircraft carrier "Randolph", which he helped build prior to his enlistment. He retired as Supervisor of the Radiation Department of Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Williams and the Rev. Wayne Best officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by two nieces, Judy Monroe of Morehead City and Nell Glenda Rachide of Knoxville, TN; three nephews, Bill Munden, Dennis Munden, and Phil Munden all of Morehead City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mildred Springle Seawell.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Morehead City Music Department, 810 Bridges St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
