Valerie Moore Fodrie

Valerie Moore Fodrie, 66, of Beaufort, North Carolina, formerly of Salter Path, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A memorial service to honor Valerie's life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 15th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. David Bratton. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.

Valerie was born on July 2, 1958, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Leslie and Edna Moore. She dedicated her professional life to serving others as a medical record assistant at Down East Medical. Valerie loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Salter Path Methodist Church, where she always enjoyed her church family.

Valerie was a loving daughter and a devoted wife, cherishing every moment spent with her family. Her cooking skills brought joy to many, especially her delicious ham and her signature key lime pies, which were always anticipated at family gatherings.

An avid traveler, Valerie enjoyed visiting the mountains of North Carolina and special destinations in Florida. She had a special fondness for the Fan Fair in Nashville, Tennessee, where she relished the opportunity to meet prominent public figures. She was an avid collector of Precious Moments and dolls. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her special cousins and dear friends, Darlene Lewis (Tommy) of Newport, NC, Gale Lewis of Morehead City, NC, and Stephanie Harvey of Newport, NC; godchildren, Jordan Harvey and Linsdey Harvey, both of Newport; cousin, Douglas Guthrie (Kathy) of Salter Path, NC; aunt, Jean Drew and cousin Vicki (Mitch), all of Beaufort, SC.

In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Robert “Bobby” Taft Fodrie who passed away in August of this year, they were just 2 weeks shy of celebrating their 42nd anniversary.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Salter Path Methodist Church, 1200 Salter Path Rd., Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
