Trudie Mae Willis

Trudie Mae Willis, 59, of Smyrna, passed away Thursday, June 28­, 2018 at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Clint Nelson. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery on Harkers Island.

Trudie graduated from East Carteret High School in 1976. She worked faithfully at Sears for 20 years until they closed. She had a special talent for arranging flowers and was able to share this gift with others when she taught flower arranging classes at Carteret Community College.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, William “Billy” Edward Rose, of the home; sister, Velvet Corwin and husband, Bernie, of Bettie; brother, Alex V. Willis, Sr. of Harkers Island; nephews, Alex “AJ” V. Willis, Jr. and wife, Grace, of Gloucester, William Harlan Collins of Gloucester; 2 great-nephews, Zack Willis of Gloucester and Bodhi Willis of Gloucester; special cousin, Joyce Conley and husband, Jimmy, of Pennsylvania; and special great nieces, who were her heart strings, Sophie and Piper Willis, both of Gloucester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lela Mae Willis; and sister, Judy Faye Willis.

Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home.
