Troy Hamilton Mason

Troy Hamilton Mason, 58, of Beaufort, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Newport.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2016 at Core Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Judy Billings officiating. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.

Mr. Mason was a longtime member of Core Creek United Methodist Church. He was part owner of Mason Marina & Motel in Core Creek and Mason Enterprises. He loved the beach and fishing. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his children.

He is survived by four daughters, Hannah Mason, and Mary Mason both of Ayden, Crystal Gay of Farmville, and Brandy Pierce of Newport; son, David Pierce, III of Beaufort; ex-wife, Dawn Mitchell of Ayden; brother, Howard E. Mason, Jr. of Texas; two sisters, Sabra Mason of Atlantic, and Carol Russell of Beaufort; grandchildren, Chelsea Sadler, Hailey Gay, Chloie Pierce, Carson Pierce, Ethan Eastwood, Conner Eastwood, Christopher Williams, Jr., and Aaliyah Williams; two nieces, Melissa Mason, and Cynthia Williams; and two nephews, Tyler Russell, and Shawn Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary Mason; grandson, Sammy Sadler; and a nephew, Bennie Russell.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
