USCG CPO, retired Tommie Fulcher, 85, of Morehead City, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Fulcher was a member of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church of Morehead City, He served during World War II and retired from the US Coast Guard. He was then employed with Sherwin Williams in Morehead City for 15 years. He was a master craftsman who enjoyed decoy carving and model boat building, He was a member of VFW Post # 2401, and enjoyed the Coffee Club at Morehead Builders Supply.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Jones and Rev. Clyde Cheezem officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Audrey Loftin Fulcher of the home; two sons, Larry T. Lewis and Patricia of Havelock and Clyde Lewis and wife Sheri of Newport; five daughters, Brenda Barnes and husband Doug of Chesapeake, VA, Betty Geiges and husband Robert of Newport, Bonnie Narron and husband John of Morehead City, Pamela Brooks and husband Kevin of Morehead City, and Barbie Smith and husband John of Morehead City; sister, Doris Bedsworth of Morehead City; brother, Edward Fulcher and wife Bonnie of Morehead City; son-in-law, Ermon Tomcany of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Michael Tomcany, Mark Tomcany, Larry T. Lewis, Jr., Leigh Ann Gray, Katie Spruill, Christopher Spruill, Amanda Lewis, Andrea Winters, Jason Barbour, Trey Lawrence, Meredith Lawrence, Trent Brooks, Morgan Brooks, Lauren Smith, and Lathan Smith; great grandchildren, Sam, Emmy, Lila Kate, Chloe, Landon, Lane, Jordan, Julianne, Hailey, Ryan, Cameron, and Mya.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Tomcany, granddaughter, Courtney West, sister, Leora Guthrie, brother, McNiel Fulcher, and parents, Carrie and Joe Fulcher.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
