Thurman "TG" Gray Morton, Jr.

Thurman “TG” Gray Morton, Jr., 59, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, April 3­, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Broad Creek Community Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ben Ball.

TG was a talented man who played guitar for many local bands. He was a hardworking man who used his skill in his profession of being a brick mason. He was known as the life of the party and was loved by those that knew him. TG was a very loving companion, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved significant other, Julie Sykes of the home; daughter, Joni Thomas and husband Mark of Broad Creek; son, Matthew Morton of the home; step-daughter, Mikayla Sykes of Jacksonville; mother, Sabra Hall and husband Ray of Broad Creek; 2 grandchildren; and close cousins, Gayle Morton of Broad Creek and Josie Mullins and husband James of Broad Creek.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman G. Morton, Sr.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. till 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
