Thomas "Tom" McDonald Pigott, 70, of Gloucester passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Carteret Health Care.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Pigott Family Cemetery in Gloucester with Chaplain Ken Turner officiating.

Mr. Pigott was born and raised in eastern Carteret County. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy, including as an engineer on a Destroyer. He was honorably discharged and spent his entire civilian career as a engineer on a tugboat for Express Marine, Inc., retiring in 1998.

He is survived by his son, Greg Pigott of Beaufort; brother, Stuart Pigott of Marshallberg; niece, Mary Pigott and fiance' Jeff Rose of Gloucester; three nephews, John Pigott and Jason Pigott both of Gloucester, and Justin Pigott and wife Becky of Smyrna; also eight great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Pearl Pigott; and a sister-in-law, Clarice Elliott Pigott.

The family welcomes flowers, or memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 6667.

The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
