Thomas Michael Saunders, Sr.

Thomas Michael Saunders, Sr. 80, of Morehead City, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Thursday at St. Egbert Catholic Church with Father Doug Smiley presiding.

Mr. Saunders is survivied by three daughters,  Rita LeClair of Newport, NC, Deborah Tozzi and husband, Michael of Jupiter, FL, Mary Effinger and husband, Chris of VA; two sons, Thomas Saunders, Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Morehead City, and Joseph Saunders and wife, Linda of NE; and twelve grandchildren, Harrison Saunders, Nicholas LeClair, Michael Tozzi, Diana Tozzi, Nicholas Tozzi, Jason Hotaling, Jill Hotaling, Joseph Saunders, Susan Saunders, James Saunders, Jonathan Saunders, and Sarah Saunders, and three sisters, Margie Dooley of CA, Bettyann Ryder of New Jersey, and Joanie Jones of PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Saunders; mother, Cecelia T. Saunders; father, Michael Saunders; and sister, Sissy Burke.

The family will receive friends after the commmital service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fatima Center, Servants of Jesus and Mary, 17000 State Route 30, Constable, NY 12926-9989.
