Thomas Carroll Jackson, Sr., 79, of Swansboro, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, Viet Nam Conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis, and in Lebanon. After his military career he worked for civil service at Cherry Point util retirement.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Peletier Missionary Baptist with the Rev. Michael Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Jackson of the home; two sons, Thomas C. Jackson, Jr, and Daniel Evan Jackson and wife Laura all of Peletier; daughter, Lorri Jones and husband Lynn of Peletier; sister, Marie Moseberth of Portsmouth, VA; five grandchilddren, April, Melanie, Amber, Deanna, and April; two step grandchildren, Brandon and Brittiny; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Dillon, Danielle, and Michelle; four step great grandchildren, Caydon, Selene, Natalie, and Walter Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilburn L. and Marie Jackson.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
