Thomas Helmlinger

Thomas Edward ?Tom? Helmlinger age 63, of Newport, NC passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, NC. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Egbert?s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6:30-8:30pm at Munden Funeral Home (both located in Morehead City, NC).
Tom was born March 9, 1947 in Newark, NJ to the late Alfred and Genevieve Quinn Helmlinger. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a former member of NSA and the US Army?s Defense Language Institute. He was preceded in death by his son Richard John Castaldi.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Newport, NC, two daughters: Lisa-Marie Castaldi Lane and (husband CMDR Jim Lane, USCG) of VA, Tina Castaldi of CA, his son: Edward ?Gene? Helmlinger of VA and two grandchildren, Edward James ?EJ? Lane IV (13) and Rowan A. Lane (11) of VA. Additional family include: two brothers, Alfred Helmlinger of NJ, Brian Helmlinger of CT, and two sisters, Joan Albeitz of NJ, Janet Walbeck of NC, and various nieces and nephews.
