Thomas “TJ” John Fox, 66, of Newport, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at home.
His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC with Pastor Tom Roberts officiating.
TJ served our country in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He worked for Dr. Luper, Beach, Mistak, and Williams Endodontist as the “glorified secretary”.
TJ was a servant to his family, friends, and God. He was a jokester and he was young at heart. When eating at the house you could always expect to be stabbed with a fork, have a roll thrown at you, have something put in your drink, or have mashed potatoes smeared on your eye glasses. He was an expert banana bread baker who loved to bake with his grandkids. Anytime TJ was serving ice cream, you knew how important it was to say “when”.
TJ was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather. He was known by those that loved him as “Teej & Babe”, “Dad”, and “Pop Pop”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pam Fox of the home; daughters, Shannon Gilliam of Newport, Kristina Knox and husband, Mac of St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca Myers and husband, Patric of Jacksonville, FL; sons, James Justice and husband, Jhon of Holly Springs, Shawn Fox and wife, Nicole of Newport; Johnny Justice and wife, Mary of Oahu, HI; brother, Dick Fox of Yankton, SD; sisters, Shirley Wipf of Yankton, SD, Nancy Calmus of Howard, SD; grandchildren, William, DJ “Donnie", Shawn Jr., Draco, Lorelei, Maris, Juliet, Diana, Gemma, Cassidy, Jayden and Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Fox and Edith Hewitt Fox.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC.
