Thomas Franklin Cade, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday February 8, 2013 at the Heart Institute in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 Thursday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
Thomas served in the Army for two years. He worked as a carpenter. as a mechanic at the shirt factory, at Open Ground Farm, with Pepsi, but most people know him from the Gant Station in Beaufort, and Carteret Tire in Morehead. He was a good and caring man. He loved family and friends. Thomas loved feeding birds, and squirrells in his yard. He actively cared for his yard with Grace. They also loved going to the mountains in the fall. He will be remembered with love and respect.
He is survived by his loving companion Grace Littleton of Beaufort: two daughters Georgia Horrell and husband David of Beaufort, and Jan Harpe of Tampa, FL: a son Tim Cade of Beaufort: grandchildren Tracey Bryant of Carolina Shores, Heather Harpe of Tampa, FL, David T. Horrell of Beaufort, and T.J. Cade of Pink Hill, NC: great grandchildren Kelly Bryant, Anthony Harpe, Alicia Horrell, Hayley Bryant, Kyla Bryant, and David L. Horrell: sisters Peggy Jones of LaGrange, Judy Smith of Beaufort, and Beverly Duncan of Beaufort: a brother Haywood Stroud of Deep Run: loved ones that were also considered his children and grandchildren David Littleton, Jan Lewis, Connie Gonazalez, Janita Gonazalez, Alicia Gonazalez, Jon Gonazalez, Ted Lewis, Jim Lewis, Melissa Caroll, and Nichole Demary.
He was preceded in death by wife Eunice Cade, son Tommy Cade, sister Shirley Baysden, brother Hardy Cade, stepmother Ruth Cade, mother Vivian Cade, father Albert Cade, and adoptive parents Edna and Needham Stroud.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
