Thomas Wayne Ballou

March 6, 1935 — February 28, 2011

Thomas  Wayne Ballou, 75, of Morehead City, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.

Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Linebarger officiating.

Mr. Ballou was a member of the Masonic Order, Ocean Lodge #405 and a Shriner. He owned and operated Sonny's Galley, Tommy's Pancake House, the Old Anchor Inn, Spooners Creek Restuarant, and Ballou Steakhouse.

He is survived by his three sons, William David Ballou, and  finacè, Vanessa Daugherty of Morehead City, Michael Craig Ballou of Houston, TX, and Barry Ballou and wife, Dorothy of Morhead City; sister, Sara Webb of Morehead City; brother, Holden Ballou of Beaufort; two grandchildren, Kristi and Kasey Ballou; loving companion, Joyce Salter of Morehead City; the mother of his children, Nancy Ballou Huckemeyer; and his best friend, "Spikey".

He was preceded in death by his son,Thomas Wayne Ballou, Jr.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
