Terrence Kent Schalk, 61 , of Clifton Park NY died of an apparent heart attack on April 12, 2012 while visiting in NC.
Terry was born in Milwaukee, WI, April 22, 1950. He was predeceased by his father, Jerome Schalk. He is survived by his wife, Betsy, his mother, Gloria Wegner and sister, Mary Schalk of WI, sister, Kate Schalk of MA ,brother, Peter Schalk of IL, sister-in- law and niece, Donna and Rachel Knapp of NY, uncle, Ben Fetherston of WI, Thomas Gabriele of NY and several cousins.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and moved to NY in 1972 to become Director of Computer Operations at Albany Medical Center. 15 years later, a born salesman, Terry became a Culligan Man. He won several sales awards and retired in 2000.
He was married on July 11, 1998 in Schenectady, NY to the former Betsy Wood Marquette. Together they made a home in Clifton Park and shared many interests; cooking , tennis and golf. Terry was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain. He always enjoyed life to the fullest. Terry was an avid tennis player and fan.. He and his wife planned vacations around tennis tournaments. He was also a member of the USTA.
Wisconsin sports were his real passion. Marquette and WI basketball, football and the Green Bay Packers.
A private memorial service for family and friends will be held in Schenectady in May and another in WI June 10. Memorial contributions should be made to the USTA Youth Programs.
