Ted was born on September 19, 1948, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to the late Steven and Louise Lewis. Following high school, Ted honorably served in the United States Air Force. Ted’s dedication was seen in all aspects of his life, from his military service to his career in marketing where he always gave his best and thoroughly enjoyed his job.
Going for coffee at the beach with his buddies was a part of his routine which brought good times, great laughs and fun story telling. Playing a great round of golf was another activity Ted enjoyed. He didn’t mind showing off his dance moves and was a proud member of the Atlantic Beach Shag Club. With his passion for reading, you could guarantee that his quiet moments where spent lost in an interesting book. Ted’s wonderful personality meant that he never met a stranger and always enjoyed chatting with others.
More than anything, Ted will be fondly remembered as a loving husband of 41 years, wonderful father, and a proud grandfather and great grandfather by his family. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda S. Lewis of the home; daughters, Stephanie Winborne of Butner, NC, Heather Tinsley of Butner, NC, and Michelle Pierce of Selma, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Winborne, Courtney Martin, Mikala Huff, Jessica Tinsley, Erin Farmer, Gavin Farmer, and John Michael Ferrell; and great grandchildren, Hadley Pardo, Riley Panatoski, Dannie Huff, Jace Huff, Avery Winstead, and Aubree Winstead.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Farmer and sister, Carol Ann Pope.
