Tammy Wayne Gordon, 76, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.
Tammy was born on November 14, 1948, in Winston Salem, NC, to John and Betty Gordon. A true patriot, Tammy honorably served his country in the United States Army and was recognized with two Purple Hearts for his bravery and dedication. A proud Trump supporter, he stood by the motto, “Make America Great Again”.
Always optimistic and good natured, one of his favorite sayings was, “I’m as fine as a frog’s hair split twice.” His kindness and love for people was seen through the joy he brought to others.
Tammy loved being outdoors and in nature. He thoroughly enjoyed watching NASCAR races and the North Carolina Tarheel sports teams. He enjoyed listening to beach music, always enjoying the upbeat tunes.
His six beloved dogs, Gracie, Bogee, Olivia, Oakley, Darla, and Zoey, were a source of endless joy and companionship for Tammy. Their playful spirits and affectionate nature were a constant source of entertainment and comfort.
Tammy will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, wonderful father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 8 years, Lisa Gordon; daughters, Kati Cannon (Jacob) of Elizabethton, TN and Courtney Weimann (Patrick) of Arapahoe, NC; son, Bryan Gordon (La Donna) of Pinnacle, NC; mother, Betty Gordon of Winston Salem; brothers, Johnny Gordon (Kay) of Kernersville, NC and Jerry Gordon of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Wayne Cannon, Isla Weimann, Olive Weimann, Tiffany Tilley (Jess), Merry Bass (Chris), Tammy “Ali” Avery (Nick), Harrison Edwards (Jennifer), Heather Gordon, Bryan Gordon II, and Dakota Edwards; 16 wonderful great-grandchildren; and niece, Kendall Gordon Rinfrette (Mike).
Tammy was preceded in death by his father, John Roby Gordon Jr.
The family will celebrate Tammy’s life privately. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Carteret County Humane Society.
