Tamara Hori

Tamara Hori, 65, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at her home.

To honor and celebrate Tamara’s beautiful life, a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 3^rd at the First Apostolic Church of Morehead City.

Tamara was born on March 31, 1958, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late Harry and Juneve Shackle. She lived a life filled with love, joy, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.

Tamara was a woman of many passions. She found peace by the ocean, as she loved fishing and collecting seashells along the sandy shores. Her culinary skills were renowned among her family and friends, who eagerly awaited her delicious home-cooked meals. Tamara was also a talented musician, playing the accordion and trumpet in concerts.

As a devoted Pentecostal, she found strength in her faith. Tamara regularly attended the First Apostolic Church where she fervently worshipped alongside her church family.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 13 years, Wesley, who supported and stood by her side throughout their journey together. Tamara's role as a mother brought immense joy to her heart, and her sons will forever be grateful for her unwavering love and guidance. Her legacy also lives on through her treasured grandson, who was the light of her life.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Wesley Hori; sons, Christopher Bone of San Francisco, CA, and Peter Bone of Chicago, IL; step-daughter, Cherrice Hori; step-sons, Weston Hori, and Lyle Hori; brother, Jimmy Shackle of Elkhart, IN; grandson, Jaxon Bone; many family members in Indiana; the Edeburns Ohana of Ohio and the Hori Ohana of Hawaii; and her cuddly feline friends, Maki, Pumpkin, and Willow.
