Sybil "Grandma" Barker

Sybil "Grandma" Barker, 87, of Newport, passed away, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Carolina East Medical Center.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Barker worked with children at the bowling alley in Morehead City until it closed in 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Barker of the home; five daughters, Patricia Hoffman and husband Lloyd of Reno, NV, Roberta Ferrell and husband Jim of Hendersonville, TN, Laura Christy and husband Clifford of Newport, Virginia Hunkele and Doug of Oklahoma City, OK, and Roxane Bracewell of Charlotte; son, Stanley Allen Barker of Orlando, FL; 14 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St., # 109, Raleigh, NC 27605.
