Sue was born on September 6, 1942, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to the late John and Annie Bordeaux. She was a 1960 graduate of Morehead City High School and enjoyed annual reunions over the years with her classmates. After Sue obtained a bachelor’s degree, she pursued a career as an Aircraft Electrician at MCAS Cherry Point. Her dedication and expertise in her field were widely appreciated.
Faith played an essential role in Sue's life, as her strength and guidance were found in her love for the Lord. Sue was a devoted member of Saint James United Methodist Church. She spent countless hours in the pages of her well-worn Bible, where she drew comfort and wisdom from its teachings.
Sue found immense joy in supporting her grandchildren's sporting events, whether it be cheering for them at softball games or enthusiastically ringing her beloved bell when they excelled on the wrestling mat. She was their number one fan, providing endless love and encouragement.
Sue was an advocate for the American Cancer Society, and actively engaged in supporting the Relay for Life initiative. A cause that held deep personal significance for her as she was a two-time cancer survivor. Her remarkable strength and determination served as an inspiration to all those around her.
Sue is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Allen of the home; son, Danny Allen and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Chris Allen (Amber) and Kimberly White (Kyle), all of Newport; 4 great-grandchildren, Kolby, Karleigh, Bayley, and Levi; brothers, Johnny Bordeaux (Nancy) and Buddy Bordeaux of Wilmington, NC; sister, Jean Bostic (Wayne) of Kure Beach, NC; special sister, Pam Jenkins (Henry) of Florence; brother-in-law, Aubrey Mason; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
