Steven was born on April 27, 1932, in Osprey, Florida, to the late Claude and Thelma Stephens. Growing up on the Gulf, he loved riding horses and being near the Bay. He was born on the water and always had a desire to get back to the coast.

Later, turning to technology and working with IBM for 23 years.

Steven’s ability to fix just about anything was a blessing not only to his family but also to his church family at Golfview Baptist Church in Florida. Whether he was remodeling homes or doing simple repairs, his work was done with excellence and joy.

Travelling the countryside in his motor home was one of his many enjoyable activities. He loved seeing new places and meeting new friends along the way. Always one to be outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf and was happy for a good round and a long walk.

He is survived by his sons, Steve Stephens Jr. and wife Judy of Straits, Dana Stephens and wife Linda of Concord, and David Stephens and wife Betsy, of Concord; along with 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Rita Faye Crayton; second wife, Okalee Stephens; daughter, Brenda Bergquist; sister, Dorothy Holland; and brother, Claude Stephens.
