Steve Dezern, 65, of Newport, died September 19, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
The family is planning a service to be held 2:00pm Thursday, at South Banks Church with the Rev. Dennis Evans officiating.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Dezern of Newport and Mandy Dezern of Matthews; son, Shawn Dezern of Asheboro; girlfriend Theresa Parsons of the home; sisters, Faye Hashley of Morehead City, Mancy Dufour of Newport, Myra Hammond of Newport, Carolyn Moody of Havelock and Becky Molinary of Newport; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service.
