Stella Mae (Willis) Morris

Stella Mae Morris, 74, of Harkers Island, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Refuge Fellowship Church on Harkers Island, officiated by Rev. Manley B. Rose, Jr. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.

Stella was fondly known for her love of flowers and working in the yard. When she wasn’t tending to her plants she could be found with her chickens which she enjoyed caring for. Her baby brother, Tennie, was her pride and joy, she loved taking care of him, guiding him through his younger years into adulthood.

Stella is survived by her brother, Tennie Willis, Jr. of Harkers Island and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Buddy” Morris; son, Jason Morris; parents, Tennie Willis, Sr. and Abbie Gale Wade; sisters, Cora Lee Willis, Leonda Willis; brother, Gene Autry Willis, Clarence Willis

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at Refuge Fellowship Church on Harkers Island.
