Stanley Earl Smith, 71, of Salter Path, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at his residence.
Services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday in Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Cheezum officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith was the owner and operator of the Oak Grove Motel in Salter Path for 38 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all those he made over the years.
He was a member of the Ocean Lodge 405 AF & AM and the Sudan Temple in New Bern, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Smith of the home; daughter, Mitzi Loveland of Salter Path, NC; sister, Sylvia Mann of Morehead City, NC; brother, Rudy Smith of Broad Creek, NC; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
