Mark Foulis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Foulis, age 69, on November 19, 2024. 

A celebration of Mark’s life will be announced in the coming weeks, where family and friends are invited to gather and remember the man who left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Mark was a passionate chef whose love for cooking was matched only by his talent in the kitchen. His creativity and skill in preparing meals brought joy to many, whether through a home-cooked family dinner or a special meal shared with friends. He was an artist well known for his incredible carved ice sculptures. 

Outside the kitchen, Mark found peace on the water, fishing and enjoying the tranquility it brought him. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Mark had a gift for making others laugh. His ability to find humor in even the challenging moments was a trait that endeared him to the people he met. He was a kind soul, willing to lend a hand to others in need. 

Mark spent the last 19 years of his life living with his extended family at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation Center in Morehead City, NC. The love and kindness he was surrounded with there brought him so much comfort and joy. 

Mark's legacy will live on in the memories of his family, friends, and all those who were touched by his kindness and humor. 

Mark leaves behind his daughter, Yvonne Marlowe and her husband Scott; grandson, Alex Marlowe; brother, Steven Foulis and his wife Renee; sister, Danielle Mead and her husband Matt; nephew, Patrick Mead; and niece Samantha Mead. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Blair Foulis; mother, Geraldine Turner; and brother, Gene Turner.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mark's honor. 

Mark will be missed, but his memory and the lessons he taught us will endure.
