Solomon "Duck" Campbell, Jr.

Solomon “Duck” Campbell, Jr. , 70, of Newport, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday at Munden Funeral Home with the Rev. J.D. Hunt officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Campbell of the home; three daughters, Lisa Campbell and Deena Edwards of Newport, and Gail Campbell of Richmond, VA; four sons, Tony Campbell of Newport, Jeremy Campbell of Straits, Robert Campbell and Louis Campbell of Baltimore, MD; five sisters, Frances Dennis of Gloucester, Mary Hook and Martha Childers of South Carolina, Judy Willis of Harkers Island, and Joan Campbell of Newport; four brothers, Amos Campbell of Raleigh, Robert Campbell and Gilbert Campbell of Lumberton, and Author “Javo” Campbell of Cape Carteret; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula Mae and Solomon Campbell, Sr., son, Shawnee Campbell, and brother, Martin “Skeet” Campbell.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
